Kameron Harris, postdoctoral fellow in UW CNC faculty member Bing Brunton’s lab, has been selected as a member of the inaugural cohort of Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellows. The three-year fellowship will support Kameron in his work focused on expanding our understanding of brain wiring and activity using machine learning techniques. Kameron recently completed his doctoral training in Applied Mathematics under the mentorship of CNC co-director Eric Shea-Brown. The Washington Research Foundation supports research carried out in Washington state, with a focus on life science and enabling technologies. For the 2018 cohort, 10 recent doctoral graduates were selected from a competitive pool of candidates to carry out mentored research projects at Washington institutions, including UW, WSU, Fred Hutch, and Infectious Disease Research Institute. The projects were selected to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing the public in areas including healthcare, climatology, and engineering.
